In my opinion, there are three things that are requirements to being an optimal worker. The first is a positive mindset. Having a positive mindset is so important because it influences every action and interactions with other people. Having a positive mindset helps to create a more positive atmosphere for those around and if you have a positive mindset you are more apt to enjoy what you're doing and others with you are more likely to enjoy it too.
The second is initiative (or drive). Initiative is important because having a positive mindset is important, but a worker also needs to strive to make things happen that will better the work place, better the environment, etc. This energy is important because even if you have a positive mindset, if you just sit there and do nothing, then you're not really helping things move forward and improve.
Lastly, the less requirement there is for you to be supervised the better. If your supervisor is able to trust you with tasks have to come down on you as little as possible, then it means that you're doing a competent job. Also it makes your boss happy because then he/she has more time to take care of their work and they don't have to worry so much about you. That makes your worth go up quite a bit because it makes their life a lot easier, especially when they are dealing with others that most likely need a lot more supervision. I hope you found this helpful and insightful. Take care. -mike
